Ensure your vehicle is in safe operating condition with brake and lamp inspections from Briganti's Automotive Service in Hollister, CA. Our ASE-certified technicians go through a detailed checklist to ensure your brakes and lamps are working the way they should.


If you are applying for a salvage title, the state of California Department of Motor Vehicles requires a brake and lamp certificate to register the vehicle.

Brake System Inspections Include:

  • All braking components must be installed correctly and be in working order
  • Brake linings, rotors or drums cannot be worn below minimum specifications
  • Car must be able to stop in less than 20 feet at speed for 25 mph
  • Check emergency brake operation (capable of holding the vehicle on 6% grade)
  • Check for signs of leakage in the hydraulic system
  • Check operation of warning lamps and confirm none are illuminated

Lamp System Inspections Include:

  • Excessively dull lenses may need to be polished or replaced
  • Headlamps and adjusting hardware must function as designed
  • No body damage that interferes with the visibility of lighting equipment
  • Original lighting equipment must be functioning
  • Reflectors and lenses must be intact and not cracked or contain moisture
